SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR THE 2011/2012 SEASON
Subscriptions for the new season are £60 per player aged 10 and over, with an additional fee of £20 for a second child from the same family. For any player who is not to be registered with the Oxford Mail Boys League (ie, training ONLY and will not be playing in official matches) the charge will be £20. For players under 10 years of age the fee is £40.
In all instances payment must be paid before League registration on 7th August 2011, otherwise the player will not be registered and therefore unable to play in official matches. The Club does not wish to deny any local children the opportunity to join and play. If you have genuine difficulty in affording the payment please discuss this confidentially with the Team Manger and Treasurer.
At the discretion of the Team Manager, a small additional weekly charge may be made during the winter months to cover the cost of hiring indoor training facilities. No other fees are charged.
Subscription fees are set at a level to cover the not inconsiderable direct costs of playing football. These include, amongst others, FA, League and player registration, cost of balls, equipment and kit, pitch hire, payment to referees and insurance.
The Club traditionally relies on sponsorship and fund-raising activities to pay for extras such as Presentation evening, players’ Christmas party and trophies. The Club’s ambitious plans, in association with Vale of White Horse Council, to achieve a permanent home at Tugwell are progressing and it is expected that the pitch will be prepared for use in the new season now that road access is now completed. In the longer term it is intended to provide a building with changing rooms, kitchen and storage facilities. This will be attached to a much larger facility for the Wantage Silver Band. Wantage Concords have to fund all of the costs of their building. Whilst it is hoped that a substantial contribution will be available in the form of grants, the Club is continuing with a major fund raising initiative to achieve the dream of a permanent home with first class facilities in Wantage for the first time in its 40 year history.
Please note that whilst the Club has insurance against injury to players, this does not cover personal possessions and we do not accept liability for loss or damage to any items that players bring to games or training sessions. The Team Managers will do their best to have changing rooms secured whilst unattended but this is not always possible and the risk of theft is high. Children are therefore strongly discouraged from bringing valuable items such as watches, wallets, cash, etc to training or matches.
It is a mandatory requirement of the Football Association that all players under the age of 18 are covered by a Medical Declaration indicating whether or not consent is given for emergency medical treatment by medical professionals. Please see the attached form for further details. No child will be accepted as a member of this Club without completion of the Medical Declaration. Information given will be treated as strictly confidential.
We have added to the registration form an agreement for children's pictures to be used (without names) for Club Publicity, eg on the website and in the local press. We appreciate that some parents may not wish to consent to this - if this is the case please delete the relevant line when submitting your form.
The Club is keen to be able to communicate directly with parents/guardians of the players. To this end we would welcome details of your e-mail address if you have one. This can be included on the attached form or e-mailed to a.c.mcfarland@talktalk.net. Please note that we do not want any child’s e-mail address, only adults, and we will not be bombarding you with e-mails!
