Wantage Concords U9s V RAF Brize Norton C17
A fantastic visit was enjoyed by Wantage Concords players, Manager, coaches together with parents, family and friends.
Wing Commander Edwards of Squadron 99 had kindly organised the visit to allow everyone the opportunity to get up close and personal with the mighty C17 Airlifter.
With the weather in full ‘down pour’ he had accounted for every eventuality and had arranged for the aircraft to be brought indoors which allowed all the visitors to enjoy and experience standing aboard this impressive aircraft. Everyone listened attentively to the many interesting facts that were presented by the SQN 99 staff.
U9’s Manager: Mr Adrian McFarland “This great opportunity was something that you don’t often experience and by all accounts the day was an absolute victory and the team think SQN 99 and their C17’s win hands down!”
Presentation Evening
The Club Presentation Evening was held on 1st June, when trophies and certificates were given out to all teams in attendance. In addition just under £400 was raised via a raffle, the sale of programmes and of Club clothing. Many thanks to all those who supported the event. Click on any of the images alongside to enlarge.
